Keyboard shortcuts
The same list is in the application under Help ▸ Keyboard shortcuts. On macOS, Ctrl here means the command key.
Tools
Single keys, no modifier.

| H | Hand |
| B | Add stroke |
| E | Remove stroke |
| C | Cut outline |
| F | Flatten |
| A | Tube axis |

Files
| Keys | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl+O | Open a project, or a settings preset |
| Ctrl+S | Save the project — artwork, hints, settings and lights |
| Ctrl+Shift+S | Save the project to a new file |
| Ctrl+Shift+O | Import a base sprite |
| Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O | Import a set of animation frames |
| Ctrl+Alt+O | Re-read the imported document, keeping its layer mapping |
| Ctrl+E | Export the normal map |
Reload is Ctrl+Alt+O and deliberately not Ctrl+R or F5, which a browser takes for its own reload — the one keystroke that would throw away every painted stroke. Read it as "open, again".
View
| Keys | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl+= | Zoom in |
| Ctrl+- | Zoom out |
| Ctrl+0 | Fit the sprite on screen |
| Ctrl+1 | Show actual pixels |
| Ctrl + scroll | Zoom around the pointer, from any tool |
Painting
| Keys | Action |
|---|---|
| Alt + drag | Erase from the current hint layer |
| Right-drag | Erase from the current hint layer |
| Ctrl+Z | Undo a stroke |
| Ctrl+Shift+Z | Redo a stroke |
Undo covers painting only. One drag is one step, however many mouse events it arrived as. Settings are not on the undo stack — they have their values written beside them, and undo that sometimes moved a control you were not looking at would be worse than none.
Frames
| Keys | Action |
|---|---|
| , | Previous frame |
| . | Next frame |
Punctuation rather than the arrow keys, which belong to whatever has focus, and rather than the bracket keys, which mean brush size to anyone arriving from Photoshop.
